Epic stretcher scaffold with 60 lineal metres of face-mounted perimeter handrail along the raised slab edge at Thomas Foods International, Murray Bridge, delivered for head contractor Ahrens.

The job: safe, fall-protected access to a raised slab at the Thomas Foods International facility in Murray Bridge, delivered for head contractor Ahrens. Works crews needed a stable deck to operate along the slab face without exposure to a fall, and the scaffold needed to be in place quickly so the slab programme above could run uninterrupted.

The scaffold. A 2.0 metre stretcher access scaffold with 60 lineal metres of face-mounted perimeter handrail running the full working length of the slab. The stretcher gave the crew a continuous 2 m wide working deck along the edge. The perimeter handrail closed off the fall edge for every metre of that working face. Standard Epic systems scaffold throughout, erected to AS/NZS 1576.

Why Epic. Epic was recommended to the Ahrens site supervisor by Ben Halliday — a former Epic team member now with Ahrens. The supervisor reported both the service and the turnaround time met expectations: the scaffold was on site, signed off and working inside two days of the request.
