Birdcage access scaffold around a silo base at SA Water Hope Valley Water Treatment Plant, with a 1 metre high working deck
Birdcage access scaffold around a silo base at SA Water Hope Valley Water Treatment Plant, Grand Junction Road, Hope Valley. 1-metre high working deck for stainless steel ring removal.

The job: removing stainless steel rings from the base of a silo at the SA Water Hope Valley Water Treatment Plant on Grand Junction Road, delivered direct to SA Water. The work needed a stable deck at a known height, running the full plan footprint around the silo base, so the crew could work the full circumference safely from one platform rather than repositioning.

The scaffold. A birdcage access scaffold, 3.2 metres by 2.57 metres in plan, built around the silo base with a 1-metre high working deck. Standard Epic systems scaffold throughout, erected to AS/NZS 1576.

Delivery. Short-form scope, direct engagement with SA Water. Hire duration set against the water utility’s own works schedule.

Why Epic. Water utility works often sit on compressed outage windows. A birdcage access scaffold around a vessel base is standard Epic kit, which means SA Water got the deck up quickly and the works crew could get on with the ring removal inside the planned window.
